Orchidding Me is a painting dedicated to stretch marks and a middle finger to the concept that they are unsightly or shameful.
Rather than hide the stretch marks away, they are embellished with gold and flaunted for all to see. The other elements involved like the orchid head and the ripples in the water speak to the viewer that not only are lines and ripples in the natural world OK - they are beautiful to behold. The rolling eye in the crook of the elbow shows what the artist thinks of those who would have women hide their stretch marks.
